Come join us Saturday, August 5, 2017 for the second annual XTERRA Flathead off road Olympic & Sprint triathlon presented by Glacier View Plastic Surgery and The Summit Medical Fitness Center. This event is sanctioned by USAT and timed by Competitive Timing. The event takes place just outside Kalispell, Montana city limits at Foys Lake and Herron Park. We are offering both XTERRA Flathead Distance and a sprint option. The distance for the XTERRA is a .93 mile swim;15.6 mile Bike and 6.2mile Run. The distance for the sprint is 1/2 mile swim, 10.6 miles, and 3 mile run.
We offer a team option as well as an individual option. The team option is a relay team. The relay team is made up of two or three participants who compete in a team format during the race. Team members are divided up among the three stages of the course with one team member competing in no more than two legs of the course, the swim bike or run. Teams may be made up of any two or three people regardless of gender or age(over 14).
The individual option the participant will do all three legs of the race.

- Swim: Temperature of water will be around 70 degrees depending on the Summer temperatures. Please note the USAT wetsuit regulations if planning on wearing a wetsuit.
- Bike/Run: 90% is on buff, flowy singletrack, with only a few rocks or roots. The ride has a short road portion to connect the swim to the trail. The remaining bit is double track. The climbs are steep and the descents are fast with plenty of corners. Perfect for competitors who enjoy are genuine mountain bike or trail running experience and prefer to stay away from tamed fire road climbs.
Points are only awarded for XTERRA Flathead course and not sprint course.
