May 26, 2020 Announcement

Summit Members,

We are excited to announce that effective Tuesday, May 26th the Summit Medical Fitness Center will begin a phased reopening of activities following the guidelines provided by Governor Steve Bullock. Your health and safety continues to be our primary focus and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we gradually bring our facility services and programs back up. During this initial period only Summit members (16+ years) will be allowed to utilize the facility. At this time non-member use will not be allowed and guest passes may not be utilized.

In order to control facility occupancy numbers we will be utilizing an online (or My Summit App) pre-registration process for members to reserve their workout time slot. Monday through Friday there will be seven (7) 90-minute time slots available each day from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., while Saturday will have 4 time periods available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each time slot will be limited to 75 people and the time that each member can be on site will be limited to a maximum of 90 minutes/day (one time slot). The facility will be closed on Sundays. Following each 90-minute workout period all present members will be asked to leave the building so Summit staff can complete a thorough cleaning of the exercise equipment and spaces.

Services available will include the following:

  • Cardio Mezzanine
  • Weight training area with some use of the Turf area
  • Technogym Weight Machines
  • Outdoor group exercise classes
  • Track: available for 8 members at a time, on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see FAQ for more details
  • Additionally, we will continue to offer our virtual group exercise classes

The following areas will not be accessible during Phase I:

  • Locker rooms for showering/changing (restroom use only)
  • Pool
  • Spa, sauna and steam rooms
  • Alpine and Big Sky studios
  • Group Cycling (group cycling bikes will be removed and a few cardio pieces of equipment moved into the Canyon studio to increase available cardio equipment while maintaining appropriate spacing)
  • Climbing wall
  • Gymnasium (currently we have a special spring SPARK child care program running for KRH staff)
  • Racquetball
  • Pro shop/deli
  • Tennis
  • Lobby seating
  • Upper level public restrooms (reserved for Cardiac Rehabilitation patient use)
  • Drinking Fountains (each member must bring his/her own water)

All members will be screened upon entering the facility. COVID-19 screening will include temperature checks, questions related to possible symptoms, travel history, and known or suspected exposure to COVID-19. We ask that you do not come to the facility if you have any symptoms of illness. While Members will not be required to wear masks while working out, masks are encouraged and will be required when directly interacting with any employee of the Summit. All Summit staff will be wearing masks.

There will be no charges for the month of May. Billing for all membership accounts will resume June 1, 2020. All charges for Competitive Edge/Turf services and SPARKS Afterschool programming have been suspended.

If you are NOT interested in accessing The Summit during this phase of our reopening or would like to make changes to your account, please review the following options.

Please note, all requests for cancellations, freezes, and changes must be submitted before Wednesday, May 27, 5:00 PM. All freezes and cancellation requests can be made online.

Medical Freeze: Suspend your membership for up to 12 months at no charge. We are currently waiving the health-care provider authorization for any concern/ medical issue related to COVID-19. When the crisis is over and you feel comfortable participating in Summit programming once again, simply give us a call and we will reactivate your account; no hassle, no charge.

Downgrade: Make a change to your account by dropping family members who may not be able or prefer not to access the facility during this time. Sometimes this can translate into serious savings and provide your family members with the flexibility to re-join at any time. The Summit is temporarily waiving the $10 fee for any account changes made before July 1, 2020.

Vacation Freeze:  Temporarily suspend your account for an additional 1 to 3 months at no charge. This option provides both you and the Summit some additional time to transition through the different stages and changes. At the end of this freeze, billing will resume automatically. This option provides you some time and breathing room to either resume or cancel your membership.

Cancellation:  If you find that none of our freeze options are a good fit for you at this time, we understand and respect your decision. Considering the current situation, we will not be charging the early termination fee for new members. However, please keep in mind, that should you choose to rejoin at a later date, you may be asked to repay the registration fee.

Polson Medical Fitness Center and Westshore Medical Fitness Center will also begin a phased reopening on Tuesday, May 26th. Please check our website for more information regarding their reopening plan.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we take this first step together.

We look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Your Summit Team
