Climbing Wall


Starting October 1st, bouldering will be allowed at the Climbing Wall. 

Due to COVID-19 climbing at the wall is closed until further notice.

Our indoor climbing wall is suited for all ages and abilities. The climbing wall is 30 feet high and 38 feet wide. With hundreds of hand holds, named routes and 6 different ropes to choose from, you will never get bored with this wall. We offer beginning and group lessons and climbing classes for adults. 


Descriptions of Climbing Times (please see schedule for available climbing times):

Advanced Climb (All Year):
This is a time when only those that are very experienced and have been cleared by a climbing instructor and placed on the advanced climbing list. If one is not on the advanced climbing list they cannot climb during this time. Please check in at the Front Desk so they can see if you are on the Advanced list. 

This is climbing low to the ground without the use of ropes. A person or child (minimum age 6) should be spotted by another person. No part of the body may pass above the third panel from the ground. Bouldering should not be done underneath roped climbers. Proper footwear required or socks. No Street Shoes. 

Open Climb (October- May):
This is a time that is available for all people who have been belay certified. There is an instructor present to assist, but not to belay. Please bring someone to belay you during this time.  Harness is provided during open climb.

Hang time (October- May):
This time is available to come and climb even if you are not belay certified. There is an instructor present who will belay you if you are not belay certified.  Harness is provided during hang time.

Age Guidelines:
You must be at least 6 years of age to use the climbing wall.

Beginning Adult Climbing Class (Ages 15 and up)

Learn the fundamentals of climbing. A two hour class that teaches adults how to climb safely, building confidence and upper body strength.  This class includes a Belay Certification and equipment is included with the cost of the class. The class needs a minimum of 2 people to run.  Please sign up at the front desk. *Cancellations and transfers must be made with at least 24 hours notice

Times:   5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Belay Test

Anyone that uses The Summit climbing wall must pass a belay safety proficiency test or to be in a special group such as a birthday party, enrolled in the S.P.A.R.K. program, etc. 

Days:   Monday or Thursday Nights 6:30-9 pm
Ages:   6 and up

    Non-Member = $15.00

Climbing Lessons

Learn the fundamentals of climbing and how to climb safely with an instructor. Lessons can be set up for an individual or a group of people. We will work with the person or group to set-up days and times for the lesson that work with your schedule.

Climbing Gear

Climbing harness and shoes are available at the climbing wall for use at no charge during Hang Time, Open Climb and Climbing classes.

Climbing Wall Waiver/Release Form

Every person that uses the climbing wall must have a climbing wall waiver/release form completely filled out and on file with our climbing wall department. Forms are available at the climbing wall, at The Summit front desk and on The Summit website.
