Lifeguard Training

This course is approximately 20 hrs long. Upon completion you will receive certification cards in CPR for the Professional Rescuer / AED, Lifeguard Training & Standard First Aid (2 yr.certifications). Minimum participants is three with a maximum of 10. Classes typically meet on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Course Prerequisites
***Must be 15 yrs. old or older
***Swim 300 yards continuously, using these strokes in the following order (goggles OK).
--100 yd of front crawl using rhythmic breathing & a stabilizing/propellant kick. Rhythmic breathing may be done by breathing to the side or the front.
--100 yd of breaststroke.
--100 yd of either front crawl or breaststroke (or a mixture of the two strokes).
***Swim 20 yds. using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to 7 to 10 feet, retrieve a 10 lb. brick, return to the surface, take the brick back to start, place on the side of the pool and climb out within 1 minute & 40 seconds (NO goggles)
***Tread water for 2 minutes with legs ONLY.

Information To Know
Go to the Conference Room FIRST each meeting date.
Bring your swimsuit, goggles & towel to every session.
Manuals will be given out at the first meeting date.
Attending all sessions is necessary to complete this course.

Lap Swim

  • For members 14 & older and non-members 18 & older.
  • Due to COVID-19, non-member access is limited to anyone 18 & older.
  • See pool schedule for days and times.


  • Sunday 12:15 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Max 25 at one time allowed.
  • Family groups of “6” allowed on a first come first served basis.
  • A one hour limit may be enforced if families are waiting to swim.
  • Members (all ages) and non-members 18 & older. Please review age guidelines.
  • We appreciate your cooperation.

COVID-19 Pool Guidelines

  • Wear your mask on the pool deck, to and from the locker rooms and in the locker rooms.
  • 2 people maximum per lane with a 45 minute time limit if people waiting.
  • Maintain physical distancing in your lane when not swimming. This means only one person can be stopped at each end per lane.
  • Max 25 Family Swim- member family groups of 6 allowed on a first come first serve basis.
  • Max 20 members in aquatic exercise classes.
  • As always, shower before you swim.
