Joe Goffena is a licensed clinical social worker. Joe’s treatment goals are to support patients to feel better about themselves emotionally, and to believe in themselves so they may pursue and achieve an enhanced quality of life. His process begins with a patient assessment followed by a co-developed care plan that is applied through the use of adaptive coping skills, making changes to help feel better about oneself, and providing support and feedback. Together, Joe helps his patients build on the strengths developed and skills learned. His special interest areas include depression, anxiety, relationship issues and life transitions. Interventions often used include mindfulness, calm breathing/imagery, cognitive and behavior therapy, positive psychology, social learning theory, solution-focused therapy and other evidence-based eclectic interventions.
