NORTH VALLEY HOSPITAL BIRTH CENTER IS NOW OFFERING VIRTUAL PRENATAL CLASSES!
The Birth Center is offering virtual prenatal childbirth education classes Wednesday evenings. A NVH childbirth class instructor will be hosting birth class sessions that consist of a 2- class series via secure Zoom meetings. There is a complimentary folder of learning materials that accompanies these classes.
Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
The Birth Center is offering a virtual prenatal breastfeeding education class on Monday evenings.
A NVH breastfeeding class instructor will be hosting the class via a secure Zoom meeting. There is a complimentary folder of learning materials that accompanies the class.
Go to our calendar for dates, times and to register.
Once your registration is complete, you will then receive an email zoom meeting invite for your secure virtual class.
Join your scheduled class for the date and time you registered for by following the zoom link that you received by email.There will be an invite for each class you take.
Pick up a birth class education folder from your provider if you receive prenatal care from Alpine Women’s Center, Heart and Hands, or The Professional Center.
This folder has the materials for Childbirth Class AND Breastfeeding Class in it. It is best to have the materials prior to the first class.
If you can not get a class education folder from your care provider, if you have trouble registering, or have further questions,email email@example.com. We can arrange a folder pick up at The Birth Center or mail one to you.
Who should participate in the childbirth classes?
They are intended for any pregnant woman regardless of whether it is your first pregnancy or not. Support people are also strongly encouraged to participate as there is valuable information for getting prepared prior to delivery, what to expect during labor, and aftercare of mom and baby.
How much do the classes cost?
NVH offers these classes for free.
Who should participate in the breastfeeding class?
It is intended for any pregnant woman regardless of whether it is your first pregnancy or not. Support people are strongly encouraged to participate to learn how to support mom and baby.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Email the firstname.lastname@example.org to notify the instructors of any registration changes.
Is it necessary to attend both the childbirth class and breastfeeding class?
General breastfeeding education is included in the childbirth class sessions. If you are looking for an in depth class taught by a lactation consultant then it is recommended to sign up for both. You can also sign up for the breastfeeding class without taking the childbirth class sessions if you are looking for a review, a refresher, or are new to breastfeeding.
Can I register for these classes if I am not delivering at NVH?
Yes, this class available for anyone. Most information is general education related to labor and delivery. However, it will be a good idea to talk with your provider about facility specific practices such as pain medication options and criteria, guidelines for guests and support people, and standard of care for certain medical procedures.
