Postpartum Resource Group
North Valley Hospital Birth Center and is happy to announce that our Baby Blues support group will now be offered through Postpartum Resource Group! We have joined with PRG in order to bring more resources and advocacy for our new mamas. The group will still be held at the same dates and locations (with a Birth Center RN facilitator) – the Professional Office Building in Whitefish on the first Thursday of the month from 6-8 pm
.We look forward to continuing to serve our new families alongside Postpartum Resource Group!
The group is facilitated by NVH Birth Center RNs who are also Postpartum Support International certified.

The Postpartum Resource Group is a local, non-profit organization with the goal of providing support, advocacy and resources for mothers experiencing postpartum mood disorders.
Facts and Figures
Postpartum mood disorders are the most common complication of childbirth:
- Occurs in 1 in 7 births in the first three months.
- Occurs in 1 in 5 births in the first year.
- Impacts 1 in 10 fathers or other support people.
Symptoms may include:
- Mild anxiety
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Bipolar disorder
How are you feeling?
In the past two weeks, have you:
- Felt sad or low?
- Felt more tired than usual or have less energy during the day?
- Felt upset or annoyed at little things?
- Had trouble thinking, concentrating or making decisions?
- Had no appetite or been eating too much?
- Worried that you might hurt yourself or felt like you wanted to die?
- Had trouble enjoying things that used to be fun?
- Felt like you have no one to talk to?
- Felt that you just can’t make it through the day?
- Felt worthless or hopeless?
- Had headaches, backaches or stomachaches?
