Providing resources to Behavioral Health initiatives throughout northwest Montana is important to the NVH Foundation Board of Directors. Mental health, suicide prevention and access to mental health are all key goals in the recent Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). In 2019, the foundation raised funds to add Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to its toolbelt for treating severe depression in adults. TMS is a therapy that is non-invasive and has minimal side effects. We also collaborated with the Nate Chute Foundation to raise funds to expand their programs and services for suicide prevention, training and awareness through 2023.
The focus of our attention now turns to making sure as many adults suffering from severe depression can receive TMS and other services they need. We serve patients that are uninsured, or have Medicaid coverage, which unfortunately does not cover TMS at this point in time. We are raising funds to ensure that this population has access to TMS treatment, if they qualify financially for assistance.
This fund would also be available for our Behavioral Health departments to fund important initiatives that are in line with the mission of NVH and the needs of the community.
Goal of $150,000
