Behavioral Health Fund
Providing resources to Behavioral Health initiatives throughout northwest Montana is important to the NVH Foundation Board of Directors. Mental health, suicide prevention and access to mental health are all key goals in the recent Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). In 2019, the foundation raised funds to add Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to its toolbelt for treating severe depression in adults. TMS is a therapy that is non-invasive and has minimal side effects. We also collaborated with the Nate Chute Foundation to raise funds to expand their programs and services for suicide prevention, training and awareness through 2023.
This fund would also be available for our Behavioral Health and Community Relations departments to fund important initiatives that are in line with the mission of NVH and the needs of the community.
Goal of $150,000
The NVH Foundation has continuing annual funds to provide for projects at North Valley Hospital, such as the Teddy Bear, Food Rx, Planetree Healing Garden, Care Continuum and Circle of Friends Funds.
Other major projects already complete include raising $520,000 in 2017 for a new 3D Mammography service, 60,000 in 2018 for Simulation/Education services and equipment, and $380,000 in 2019 for Behavioral Health TMS equipment and suicide prevention collaborative community initiatives and $100,000 for new re-positioning mattresses for the SCU and Med/Surg beds.
