Simulation PLUS Clinical Education
Simulation is the use of mannequins with a variety of levels of sophistication (fidelity). NVH owns low fidelity simulation dummies, which allows for basic training and orientation. However high fidelity simulation mannequins are highly technical machines requiring specialized expertise to operate. North Valley Hospital and other rural facilities in the state of Montana are fortunate to now have access to high fidelity simulators and experts to set up trainings and scenarios to provide team-based simulation training. SIM-MT, a non-profit located in Bozeman, MT has been created to provide three buses that are fully outfitted with high fidelity simulation mannequins and equipment. We believe that aggressive use of these new training resources will save lives. Nurses, CNAs, physicians and other staff in our Emergency Department, Special Care Unit, Med/Surg floor, Birthing Center and clinics will all be scheduled to have simulation training. In addition, the fund will help send select staff to specialized training and conferences to keep the NVH staff abreast of national trends and process improvements.
Goal of $100,000

PREP! Patient Room Experience Project
A project to significantly impact the quietness of patient rooms and upgrade the technology and patient experience in the Special Care Unit and Med/Surg floor. TVs will be replaced and wireless headset technology with bedside tablets to be used by patients to access the internet and nursing staff to do patient education. Visual and audio relaxation channels will be added to the TV system. Semi-private suites will be converted to private suites and room modifications made to make them quieter. Some rooms will have floor and wall work done as the hospital is 11 years old and upkeep is necessary to maintain the quality of our Planetree hospital.
Goal of $450,000
