North Valley Hospital's Jason A. Cohen, M.D., receives MMA's Merit Award
Congratulations to Jason A. Cohen, M.D., hospitalist and Chief Medical Officer at North Valley Hospital, who received The Merit Award from the Montana Medical Association last week. Doctor Cohen was one of four physicians that received awards during the 141st MMA Annual Meeting in Billings, Mont.
Doctor Cohen was recognized for his leadership on various topics, from Medicaid Expansion to reducing the use of tobacco and e-cigarettes products, with the aim to increase patient access to healthcare, reduce cost of care and improve the health of our communities.
“The Montana Medical Association is honored to award Jason A. Cohen, M.D., for his excellent service and commitment to providing quality health care,” said Jean Branscum, MMA Chief Executive Officer. “Doctor Cohen has volunteered untold hours to engage and encourage physician colleagues to be an essential voice for their patients and to educate Montanans on Medicaid expansion and beyond.”
The MMA created the Merit Award in 1975 to honor individuals whose actions have led to the betterment of health care in Montana. Physicians in the state nominate award winners based on several criteria. The MMA Executive Committee reviews and determines the awardees on a yearly basis.
