North Valley Hospital Joins 2019 Great Fish Challenge
The North Valley Hospital (NVH) Foundation is honored to again join in the Whitefish Community Foundation’s Great Fish Challenge fundraising event. The Great Fish Community Challenge is “an innovative fundraiser that inspires our community to give, raises awareness, and helps charities raise important program funding,” as stated on the Whitefish Community Foundation website.
This is North Valley Hospital’s fifth year taking part in the challenge, and this year, the NVH Foundation is raising $75,000 for 12 additional Hercules repositioning mattresses to complete replacement of all patient beds on the medical/surgical floor of the hospital.
The Hercules repositioning mattress allows for easier patient movement, protecting the dignity of patients and the physical strain of nursing staff. At North Valley Hospital, the Foundation recently purchased six repositioning mattresses for the Special Care Unit, and the overwhelmingly positive response from nursing staff served as a motivator to continue funding the project.
For the community, the patient beds will ease movement during medical care for those in the hospital or with family members in the hospital, while supporting the nursing staff through safe practices to reduce workplace injuries.
“We’re constantly amazed by the generosity of our community, and endlessly grateful,” said North Valley Hospital Foundation Executive Director Alan Satterlee at the beginning of the 2019 Great Fish Challenge.
North Valley Hospital and the NVH Foundation thank the Whitefish Community Foundation and the local community for the support during the Great Fish Challenge. Learn more and donate here: https://www.whitefishcommunityfoundation.org/great-fish/
