Fifth annual Spring Into Safety is May 18

The fifth annual Spring Into Safety Kids Day is coming up on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Trade Center at Northwest Montana Fairgrounds. The event is free and open to the whole family.

Organizers will give away more than 1,000 kids' bicycle helmets, courtesy of Flathead Electric's Roundup for Safety program.

Bring your bikes for a maintenance check and try out the road safety course. Car seat safety checks will be provided. There also will be kids' games, face painting and other fun activities.

New for 2019!! The Prevent Cancer Super Colon® is an interactive educational tool that travels to communities across America with the message that colorectal cancer is Preventable, Treatable, Beatable!®Learn more about:

  • tissue with non-malignant colorectal disease like Crohn’s and colitis
  • colorectal polyps
  • various stages of colorectal cancer

Another highlight of the event is the presence of the A.L.E.R.T. and Two Bear Air helicopters and crews, as well as local police, fire, emergency services, and search and rescue. More than 30 community programs will be on hand to showcase what they do for local kids and families.
