Neurological Surgeon Stephen Campbell, MD, joined the Neuroscience and Spine Institute’s Department of Neurological Surgery in January 2016, and now practices as a member of the active medical staff at Kalispell Regional Healthcare. Dr. Campbell first earned his master’s in electrical engineering and spent eight years as an electrical engineer, designing stealth aircraft avionics and supercomputer equipment. He then went on to complete his medical schooling at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He carried out both his general surgery internship and neurological surgery residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He began professional practice as an attending neurosurgeon with the trauma section at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. There he held privileges at three hospitals, including a Level 1 trauma center where he provided call coverage for eight years. He remained with that health network until accepting the opportunity to begin practice with Kalispell Regional. Dr. Campbell enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two daughters, as well as with the family’s horses.
