Cardiologist Sharon Hecker, MD, FACC, joined Rocky Mountain Heart & Lung in January 2015, becoming a member of the active medical staff at Kalispell Regional Healthcare. She earned her medical degree from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, then completed her internal medicine internship through Evanston Hospital, Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After she finished her internal medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Dr. Hecker accepted a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases through Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. She began her professional practice with Rocky Mountain Clinic, a multispecialty group in Butte, Montana. During her tenure there, she served as the medical director for cardiopulmonary services at St. James Healthcare in Butte for three years, and was medical director for cardiac rehabilitation from 2006 to 2012. She also cared for heart patients for six years in Missoula. Dr. Hecker has taken on many medical leadership roles throughout her career, including her role as past chair of the Board of Directors of St. James Healthcare and Montana Governor of the American College of Cardiology. She continues her service on the Women in Cardiology Council for the American College of Cardiology. For leisure, Dr. Hecker enjoys skiing, bicycling, yoga and spending time with her family.
