Mikal A. Bailey, MPAS, PA-C, MT(ASCP), is a physician assistant who serves as part of the Neuroscience and Spine Institute in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Mikal brings nearly 14 years of experience in internal medicine, interventional cardiology and orthopedic spine surgery to meet the needs of our diverse patient population at Kalispell Regional Healthcare. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and holds degrees in clinical laboratory sciences, reproductive medicine and physician assistant studies. He has served as adjunct faculty with the University of Kentucky, Southern Illinois University and Bethel University. In fall 2016 he will be helping to establish the nation’s first fellowship program for physician assistants in the area of physical medicine and rehabilitation, located here at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. His broad-based experience allows him to consider the whole patient as he treats people with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative disorders, orthopedic disorders, spasticity, degenerative spine disorders and more. He joins the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team members who use a multidisciplinary approach to treat patients with medications, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nontraditional methods of recovery including massage, acupuncture, chiropractic and other means to return patients to their highest level of functioning and recovery possible. Mikal and his wife have three children. They enjoy camping, hiking, backpacking, trail biking, snowshoeing, fishing and exploring as a family. His wife is also part of the local medical community and works as a physical therapist.
