Mark Kaneta, MD
Neonatologist Mark Kaneta, MD, joined the active medical staff with Kalispell Regional Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in June 2013. He was a familiar presence long before that, however, as he provided medical coverage for the NICU while still working as medical director for the Fort Walton Beach (Florida) Medical Center. A Honolulu native, Dr. Kaneta carried out his medical studies at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. He relocated to Indianapolis, where he completed both his internship and residency in pediatrics and was selected for a neonatal fellowship in perinatal medicine, all at Riley Children’s Hospital. He began practicing with Indiana University Neonatal Group in Indianapolis, where he was the attending neonatologist for four hospitals. In the following years he gained broad experience across the United States, including a term as medical director of the NICU at Community Medical Center in Missoula, Montana. Dr. Kaneta also has held several medical school faculty positions. For five years he owned and published Three Rivers Lifestyle Magazine in Missoula. In his leisure hours, he enjoys spending time with his three daughters.
