How is an upper respiratory infection treated?
The common cold usually goes away within a few days to two weeks, and can be treated at home. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and consider acetaminophen or ibuprofen for relieving mild pain or fever. Antibiotics are not effective for treating cold viruses.
