Northwest Specialists, a department of Kalispell Regional Medical Center, is a specialty clinic. Most of our patients are referred by their primary care physicians who value the expertise of Dr. Jose de Souza in diagnosing and treating hormonal disorders, and of Dr. Jeffrey Tjaden in immunizing against and treating infectious diseases.
Endocrinologist Jose C. de Souza, MD, works with problems of the thyroid, pancreas, pituitary and adrenal glands. Among the most common conditions treated are diabetes mellitus types 1 and 2, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, calcium metabolism issues, lipid metabolism disorders and osteoporosis.
Infectious diseases specialist Jeffrey A. Tjaden, MD, FACP, has a particular interest in travel medicine and viral diseases. He has lived and worked in many different countries throughout Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East where he gained invaluable experience with his specialty. He helps patients with bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites; HIV (AIDS); post-operative infections; vector-borne diseases; and travel preparation for health needs through a weekly Travel Medicine Clinic
