Colleen Karper

Colleen Karper, RN, BSN, CDE Colleen Karper, RN, BSN, CDE, is a graduate of Montana State University and has more than 30 years of experience in chronic disease management. For the past 14 years, she has been the program coordinator for Diabetes Education and Prevention at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. In 2001 Colleen achieved program recognition through the American Diabetes Association for the diabetes self-management education services at KRMC. This recognition demonstrates adherence to the highest standards for diabetes self-management education. Colleen's involvement with diabetes awareness and advocacy includes the Montana Diabetes Educators Network and the Montana Diabetes Program, as well as local efforts to raise awareness and funds to benefit those with diabetes.

Leslie Coates

Leslie Coates, MS, RD, CDE Leslie Coates, MS, RD, CDE, is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. Leslie completed her master of science in nutrition and has more than 20 years of experience working in the field of dietetics. She joined Kalispell Regional Medical Center's diabetes team in 2004 and achieved her certification as a diabetes educator in 2005. Leslie is a lifestyle coach for the Kalispell arm of the Montana adapted diabetes prevention program, a grant-supported program award to KRMC by the Montana Department of Health and Human Services in 2008. Leslie was selected as the Montana Dietitian of the Year in 2011.

Grace Caplan

Grace Caplan, RD Grace Caplan, RD, began her career as a diabetes educator with Diabetes Education and Prevention in May 2014. Grace is a graduate of Michigan State University in East Lansing with a bachelor of science in dietetics. Grace completed her dietetic internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, spending part of this experience in the UTMB Stark Diabetes Center, where she developed a special interest in educating patients with diabetes. Grace provides diabetes self-management education in group and individual settings and is an educator for the Montana adapted diabetes prevention program. Grace enjoys all of the outdoor activities the Flathead Valley offers.
