What is Dino-Sore?
Dino-Sore is a service for children with mild, temporary illness while parents are at work. The program is designed to be an extension of parents’ care, for children ages 3 months to 12 years.
- Dino-Sore is a free service for employees of Kalispell Regional Healthcare.
- Dino-Sore is available to the general public for $40 per day, per child, paid at time of service.
What is a temporary illness?
Children with temporary illnesses such as ear infections, minor colds, sore throats and headaches will be admitted. Any child with a communicable respiratory disease such as measles, German measles, chickenpox, mumps or scarlet fever will not be allowed until they have been on adequate antimicrobial treatment. Children with illnesses such as strep throat or pink eye must be on antibiotics for 24 hours prior to being admitted.
What if my child’s condition changes?
You will be contacted there are any changes in your child’s condition. All bodily fluids will be considered and treated as potentially infectious. Children may be confined to a room or bed, as needed. If a child’s temperature reaches 103 degrees, his or her parents will be notified and will be required to pick up the child within 30 minutes.
We encourage parents to check in by calling or visiting while their child is staying at Dino-Sore.
What are the hours of operation?
Dino-Sore is available Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. unless otherwise announced.
In the event a child is not picked up by 6 p.m., there is a late fee of $1 per minute. This fee is payable upon pickup of the child.
How do I make a reservation for my child?

or Dino-Sore at (406) 758-7488
. This program available on a first come, first served basis, and reservations are required.
What should I bring?
- Diapers and wipes
- Change of clothes
- Comfort food that your child enjoys
- Bottles, formula, breast milk
- For young children, favorite toys or blanket
- For older children, iPad or handheld gaming toys
Even if your child attends Kid Kare, you will need to bring the above items to Dino-Sore. Items will not be transported to Dino-Sore for your child's stay.
How long can my child stay?
Your child may stay at Dino-Sore up to two days. After two days, a written release from your child's physician is required before your child can return to Dino-Sore.
What is the medication policy?
If your child is taking medication, you will need to complete an authorization form in order for staff to administer medication. This form specifies the medication, the duration, the time the medication should be given and the dosage. This information must coincide with doctors' instructions as prescribed and stated on the prescription. All medications must be in the original container prescribed for that child.
