Summer Intern Programs

Kalispell Regional Healthcare has two paid Summer Internship Opportunities. The program descriptions are below.
 

General Summer Internship Program

The Kalispell Regional Healthcare General Summer Intern Program is for students who have completed their freshman year of college and are entering their sophomore,  junior or senior year, fall of the year they are applying. For example, if you are applying for summer 2021, you will need to have finished freshman year by June 2021 and entering your sophomore, junior or senior year in fall 2021. This program provides college students the opportunity to experience clinical exposure, the opportunity to observe in various departments of Kalispell Regional Healthcare. Interns may observe or participate in the following, but not limited to, observation of surgeries, procedures, therapies, emergency medicine,  and may participate in related research projects, data entry, scanning and filing. We try to tailor the program to the careers and interests of the intern that he/she lists on their submitted application as well as other areas that may not be as well know but offer a great learning opportunity. If you plan to apply, it is recommended that you visit KRHS's Services Website to include as many interests as possible on your application. This information will assist us in scheduling your experience before you even arrive for your first day.

The schedule is typically M-TH 8-4 for 4 weeks. The number of interns who will be selected is limited. Funds to support this internship are limited and provided by donation to the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation. Preference is given to KRH employees, medical staff, volunteers and board family members but all will be considered.

This internship is paid at minimum wage.

Sorini Endowment Summer Internship

The Neuroscience & Spine Institute of Kalispell Regional Healthcare established the Peter M. Sorini, MD Educational Endowment in 2016. Our internship program was originally created in the honor of the late Peter Sorini, MD. The summer internship program is funded by an endowment that has been started through the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation. This program provides college students the opportunity to experience clinical neurosciences, with the anticipation of inspiring future career paths within the field. The interns have the opportunity to intern with departments of neurology, neurosurgery, and physical medicine & rehabilitation, for a five-week rotation. Students who intern participate in the following, but not limited to, clinic observation with providers, operating room observation, and a neuroscience-related research project. Students interested in participating in the Peter M. Sorini, MD Educational Endowment can apply with the Neuroscience & Spine Institute below.

This internship is paid at minimum wage.
